Complicité
Why would I? She was my wife, the love of my life. (French philosopher Louis Althusser, imagined)
A quasi-‘translated’ strand of stories from a philosopher-murderer benignly recalling his accidental strangulation of his adoring wife while his analyst makes excuses for a violent client (Althusser); an obsessed reader stumbles over her passion for true-crime fiction and tries to make sense of her passion for and complicity in perpetuating such violence.
Originally produced as looped sound installation with constructed, empty bed frame with the quote embroidered in red across the pillow: She was my wife, the love of my life.
